Continuing to drive the evolution of mixed martial arts throughout the world, M-1 Global will host a ground-breaking training seminar in St. Petersburg, Russia from October 4th-8th for Russia’s prodigal fighters and soldiers looking to elevate their game.

As the calendar closes in on M-1 Challenge XXI: Grishin vs. Guram, some of the top names in MMA will venture to the city’s most ancient and eminent location, the Alexander Nevsky Monastery, where the halls will be filled for a series of workshops dedicated to improving the skills of European fighters and raising the stature and prominence of the sport in Russia.

“By bringing three world-class instructors to St. Petersburg, M-1 Global will continue to develop the talent produced by the Selections tournament in 2010,” says Director of Operations, Evgeni Kogan. “Our commitment to delivering fans the highest quality bouts remains absolute as the Selections champions are being continuously groomed into tomorrow’s superstars by fighters who are at the top of their game.”

Leading the sessions will be 2010 DREAM Light Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion, Gegard Mousasi, world champion Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert and owner of ‘the flying armbar’, Vinny Magalhaes and Dutch Thai boxing expert and trainer to K-1 greats, Peter Theissen.

Over five consecutive days, these foreign experts will teach their disciples multiple facets within MMA and hone different techniques necessary to compete on the world stages and defend their country. Those participating include M-1 Selection 2010 Eastern Europe Champions- Slava Vasilevsky, Artyom Damkovsky, Shamil Zavurov and Mohammed Sultan and leading Russian soldiers. These fighters will undoubtedly depart with new knowledge and an invaluable experience in submissions and hand to hand combat as they close in to their October 28th and December 11th title fights
